Our Story

About Us

At the beginning of the new millennium, three Italian guys who lived very far from each other: in Sacramento, New York and Milan, met on a Porsche fans internet forum.

Porsche wasn't the only passion they shared: tasteful cuisine, boats and good Italian style connected them.

One day, Umberto found a really interesting vessel: a nice 1983 Californian 55', almost abandoned in a Marina on the Sacramento river.

The decision was easy and immediate: "This boat is to be restored and come back to navigate".

Suddenly Umberto and his Family started working very hard. Despite of the name "Halcyon Days", the boat had certainly seen better days and there was a lot to do.

But Umberto, as an Italian Architect and a good manager, of course is not afraid of such challenges and knows how to find solutions for every trouble.
He is also a capable carpenter!

It was a hazardous bet: the ugly duckling should be turned into a wonderful swan (ops, I'm sorrry) into a delightful Halcyon in a few weeks and with little resources. And the bet was won!

Every detail (outside and inside the boat) was deeply polished and renewed.

Our passion for the authenticity and the preservation, moved us to the narrow road of restoration instead of the easy replacement, and today "Halcyon Days" charmingly shows the original beautiful spaces and decorations, originally fitted since 1983.

The hard work of remodeling the vessel and the precise attention to detail has allowed us to maintain the yacht with its original look and beauty.

Of course, without giving up the modern comfort: 42" Plasma TV, DVD/MP3 Player, Bose sound system, Saeco Espresso Coffee Machine, Double Ovens, 200# per day Ice maker, Industrial Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer... found place in the fine woods of Halcyon Days.

We are a USCG United States Coast Guard licenced boat with top score points.
In the past 7 years we have always passed the inspections with 'flying colors'.
It is evident that we do not cut corners by the glowing recommendation written by the Coast Guard Inspector in our Guest Book as he left!
